Aird View

Aird View nestles in the hillside of a lovely rural area
called the Braes.
The bungalow enjoys a quiet location with a
breathtaking panoramic view towards the islands of Raasay and Rona.
The nearest beach
with fascinating rock pools and caves, is only a few minutes walk from the front door.
The bungalow is set slightly back from a single track, no
through road, yet is only 7 miles from Portree, the principal town on
the island. This buzzing, attractive harbour town features shops,
restaurants and hotels - many having evening entertainment.
Sailing,
boat trips for sightseeing and birdwatching, or fishing trips may be arranged from Portree.

Inside...
The comfortably furnished lounge/diner has two large windows taking in spectacular views over the sea to Raasay |
There is a range of books, local information leaflets and games and puzzles - for those rare occasions when you may want to stay indoors. |
This is the view from the dining table (picture taken from outside, and, sorry, but the tree on the left was blown down in a storm during 2006).
The kitchen is modern, with a full size electric cooker, microwave oven, 2-door fridge/freezer, automatic washing machine, tumble dryer, and iron and ironing board. |
Bedroom 1 is very spacious and very quiet - the window is to the side and looks out towards Beinn Tiennavaig |
All three double bedrooms feature divan beds, and have built-in wardrobes providing ample shelf and hanging space. |
Bedrooms 2 and 3 face the front, with views over the surrounding countryside, towards Raasay, Rona, Scalpay and the mainland. |
The bathroom is smart and clean, with wc, wash hand basin, and bath with over-bath electric shower. |
The garden...
There are fenced garden areas to both sides of the bungalow. |
On a sunny day - where better to relax and enjoy that view...? |
Just minutes from the front door...
The nearby coast is a "must" to explore. Physical features include caves, stacks, arches, and blowholes. |
There are resident seabird colonies, and if you are lucky, porpoises and even whales may be spotted |
